Decor and Delhi

Décor & Delhi…go hand in hand.

Having been in the design bizz for so long a time, it is occupational hazard that we cannot keep our eyes from roaming and scouting the environs for all things beautiful wherever I go…. Recently on my trip to Delhi, I took a whirlwind tour of the many markets in our capital city known for its bazaars…to indulge in cravings of my kind….home decor!
I took to the streets in search of the “Modern Indian Style” …. it is an exciting phase in Indian design history where our knowledge of the international seamlessly merges with our heritage arts & crafts. I shall reserve this topic for another day.
Here is my guide to the best interior decorating shopping in Delhi. Join me on my journey of discovery of a treasure trove of goods… from the odd and the obscure, the famous and the fancy.
Depending on the kind of wares you are looking for….you could go to Chandni Chowk, Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Delhi haat, National Craft Museum, Kirti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Cannough Place, Lado Sarai, Sunder Nagar, Sultapur etc
Today, let me take you to Khan market that particularly caught my attention… with many stores of international repute… Khan market is certainly the place to go for branded, high end décor. You can find Goodearth, FabIndia, FCML home, Renovation Factory, Second Floor Studio  and Sarita Handa among many home décor stores.

The quaint SARITA HANDA STORE in Khan Market takes us back in time to a more elegant era…of style and design. It is no less than eye candy…in plenty.

The store has a range of exclusive fabrics for custom upholstery and soft furnishings.. to pret e porter cushions, bed linens et all….the fabrics designed and manufactured in India seem to be an effusive and elated take on European style.

Their primary forte being hand embroidered linens.
